Do you have a love for reading? Volunteers are the core of the Audible Local Ledger. Without our volunteers, we could not possibly continue to provide our free radio reading service to individuals who are blind, visually impaired, and print disabled.

We depend on volunteers to help fulfill our mission through board service, help with landscaping at the site, fundraising, planning, and advocacy. Your support helps us keep expenses low so that our funds can go to the costs of building new affordable housing for those with developmental disabilities.

Reviews applications as required by the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and the Nantucket Wetlands Bylaw. All development and proposed activities within 100 feet of a wetland must be reviewed and approved by the Commission.

Through this program, we distribute coats to veterans in need to help make sure that they are safe from the unforgiving winter weather. Coats4Vets is made possible through the generous donations from Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation.

In response to the massive food insecurity problem posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we focus on sourcing, packaging and distributing Vital Meal Kits (VMKs). These contain nonperishable and well-balanced meals. Each food package contains enough food and nutritional value for two people to have three meals a day for 14 days.
