In response to the massive food insecurity problem posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we focus on sourcing, packaging and distributing Vital Meal Kits (VMKs). These contain nonperishable and well-balanced meals. Each food package contains enough food and nutritional value for two people to have three meals a day for 14 days.

Join us on beautiful island farms. We provide tools, and instruction and an experienced Field Captain. Most gleans last about two hours. Volunteers may keep a share of the harvest for themselves.

Drivers are needed to transport clients from our family shelters in Falmouth and Bourne to medical appointments, parenting workshops, and other important meetings. This can include help with babysitting, picking up children from school or providing necessary transportation to club meetings or sporting events and practices. Volunteers have also made invaluable contributions with family pet care.

Volunteers can assist with shopping or household maintenance, or allow family caregivers the opportunity to take care of necessary errands and get some time away from the house. Family members also appreciate a visit from a compassionate friend who understands what they are going through.

We are often in need of assistance for either upkeep or beautification of the HPC office. Depending on the season, some examples of tasks are snow removal, gutter cleaning, landscaping (planting flowers, cutting grass), and general handyman/woman support. Experience and proper equipment are required for all activities.
