What happens when a group of retailers, from across a region, collaborate to lift each other up after the economic fallout of COVID-19? A lift up local initiative is born. South Coast Almanacis collaborating with a dozen of our region's small businesses who are impacted by COVID-19 and creating surprise boxes filled with items from their establishments. Think of these as speciality grab bags for grown-ups (but in a box!)--a curated and themed assortment to bring joy to each recipient and financial support to our small businesses after a rough spring.
The Thornton Burgess Green Briar Nature Center & Jam Kitchen, like many non-profits and businesses, is struggling at this time. Our usual revenue stream has become a “trickle” and will not cover all necessary operational costs. We are asking for your support to make a small donation to help us continue with the care of our animals. Although any donation amount will make a difference, we are asking everyone to consider “Giving Twenty in 2020.” As a thank you for your donation of $20 or more, we will send you two guest passes to the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. To donate please visit http://www.thorntonburgess.org/Our-Animals-Need-Your-Help
Wild Care receives a large volume of phone calls every day, regarding wildlife in distress. The callers are not always able to capture and/or transport animals to our center.
Dream Day is looking for skilled labor volunteers to help us ready our facilities for the 2022 summer programs. Every year the elements take their toll on our facilities and we rely heavily on community volunteers to help us with repairs and clean up. The pandemic has diminished our ability to have these volunteers and has hit us financially. Therefore, there is more work than usual this year!We know it's a hard time to ask busy individuals/companies to donate their time! But we know that they will feel the magic of what Dream Day is about when they do and it will leave a lasting impression on them and on the families we serve. We are in need of plumbers, carpenters, electricians, painters - to name a few. Additionally we are in dire need of a skilled auto mechanic to take a look at some of our vehicles. And we know we are going to need a new (to us) 1 ton dump truck as ours is on it's last leg.Thank you for considering this!
