Our mission

To make Montessori education a realistic option for ALL families.

Opportunities

Comparison Shopping

Finding the best deals for large and/or recurring expenses will extend our budget and enable us to purchase additional materials for the children or reduce costs for families.

When Sage Montessori has large one time expenses (example: wood chips for the playground) or smaller recurring expenses (example: groceries, art supplies, etc…) you would compare prices and find us the best deals. This is an as needed opportunity there may be lulls and periods of more activity.

In Kind Donation Requests

Sage Montessori works hard to balance the cost of providing a high quality program and the need to keep tuition costs accessible for all families. In Kind donations from businesses and organizations helps us keep tuition costs low while providing a high quality program.

Meet with the Guide Leader, Ed Stanford, to discuss various school needs. Then you can work from your home or location of your choice when your schedule permits you to contact business and organizations to request in kind donations. Examples might include supplies for animals in the environment, plants and supplies for the garden, books, etc…

Cultural Exchange

The children will benefit from exposure to different cultural beliefs and practices.

Meet with our Lead Guide, Ed Stanford, to discuss how you might share aspects of your culture with the children in a developmentally appropriate way. You might share about a holiday (Ramadan, Chinese New Year, Passover, Easter, Christmas, Diwali, Eid Al Adha, Yom Kippur, Kwanza, Hanukkah, etc…) and/or food from your culture and/or games, etc…

We can tailor the experience to your interests and comfort level, but generally we advise small group activities for 3-4 children at a time. You might repeat this activity once or twice more with additional children.

Gardening

Gardening can be done either with the children’s help or when the children are not present. Children benefit from observing the growth and life cycle of plants, from learning first hand where their food comes from, and from getting their hands dirty and involved in making things grow.

Have a meeting with our Lead Guide, Ed Stanford, to discuss our aspirations for gardening and explore options. Your available time and expertise will shape the project we create.

Simple Woodworking Projects

We often have a need for small custom woodworking projects that will improve the learning environment or become materials for the children to use. These might be small trays to hold an activity, or a child size table or other piece of furniture. Shelves, boxes, bins, etc… The world is not child size but you can help us provide items that are the correct size for children ages 3-6.

Meet with our Guide Leader, Ed Stanford, to discuss our current needs and choose a project that you would like to complete. You can work at home at your own pace.

Meet with the Guide Leader, Ed Stanford, to discuss various projects. Choose a project that is interesting to you and we can figure out materials and when you can get started. You can work on projects at your home or location of your choice when your schedule permits.

Translating Written Materials

We think Montessori education is the best form of education for young children and all families deserve to have a choice to attend a Montessori school. However, access is often limited when materials are only available in one language.

Translating any of our written materials such as our website, enrollment forms, marketing materials, and language curriculum materials would benefit the children by improving access to Montessori education and diversifying our school community.

We will provide you with written content and ask you to translate it into any other language in which you are fluent. You can do the translation at your own pace and in your own home.

Pick up and deliver large items in your truck

We build many things for the school but we do not have access to a truck. Delivering items in your truck will benefit the children with new table tops, an improved cubby system for their belongings, and improved storage for learning activities.

Meet one of our staff members at Home Depot to pick up materials and deliver to the school. Weekends are ideal and it should take less than an hour.
