Ways to help

General/Organizational

Are you a handy person, jack-of-all-trades? Or do you have a special expertise or area of interest that you’d like to share with us? Just because we didn’t specifically list something above, doesn’t mean we don’t need the help. Just submit the Volunteer Interest form and we can explore the possibilities together!

Tour de Barnstable Rider Contact

Looking for volunteers who enjoy connecting with the community, are friendly, engaging, outgoing, and like to chat. Over 400 riders participate in this 38/40 mile charity bike ride that winds through all seven villages in the Town of Barnstable. Volunteers are needed at the start and finish line (Aselton Park, Hyannis) and along the route. Usually held on the first Sunday in June.

Communications/Community Engagement/Programs

If people, programs, and purpose are appealing, you’ll love the wide range of opportunities to get involved. Become a program host/ambassador or educator, lead our community outreach efforts, or provide support for large events like the Annual Meeting, Flowerpot Music Concert (part of the Make Music Day Celebration), or our new event - a two-day live readathon in October of Thoreau's Cape Cod. Creative talents like event photography, video skills, or special areas of expertise (drones, trail cams, AV, design) are essential to improving our communications efforts. Help a small team create big impacts!

Land Stewardship

Help maintain and care for the land and trails on the close to 120 properties that BLT protects. With weekly group projects, small construction and repair jobs, property caretaking programs, or trail maintenance teams, there are a variety of land stewardship opportunities that can fit your time commitment, interests, and abilities. Spending time outside with great people is an extra bonus!
