COVID Update Letter from the Director and CEO
As the year comes to a close, I’m sure I speak for many of us when I say I’m ready to put 2020 in the rearview mirror and embrace the hope that 2021 brings.
While the rollout is at the moment slower than it needs to be, the first COVID-19 vaccines are being administered and a new chapter is set to begin. While we’re eager to move onto the phase of recovery and renewal, first we need to focus on staying safe for the next few months.
The Director of the CDC has indicated that maintaining (and increasing) safety measures during the first three months of 2021 is critical. As such, while all ASGCC services continue, we are currently reviewing operations and safety protocols which may include a slight reduction in hours and in-person services for the first quarter of 2021. As you know, many of our services have shifted to virtual and we anticipate those will continue unchanged.
For up-to-date information on this, please visit our website, and specifically the section on COVID-19 Updates: www.asgcc.org/covid-19-updates/
For January, we’ve introduced INCREASED client services, for the next three months, aimed at providing additional emotional supports for clients during these winter months. These offerings for our clients living with HIV include a weekly, virtual drop-in group as well as a weekly walking group in Provincetown.
While 2020 was tough, things are looking up for 2021. We are here. If you need something from us, please reach out. Remember: together, we are resilient.
From all of us at ASGCC, we’re wishing you a peaceful, hopeful new year.
Yours in solidarity,
Dan Gates, LCSW
