Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on young people in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations. Ultimately, mentoring connects a young person to personal growth and development, and social and economic opportunity. Yet one in three young people will grow up without this critical asset.

In MMP’s unique role as an intermediary organization, we provide the critical link between national evidence-based research and local programs that promote quality mentoring relationships. As a force multiplier, MMP invests in the support young people need by providing the tools adults require in order to truly show up for youth in a caring and consistent way by bringing research to practice and theory to action.

We provide tools, research, training, and best practices needed to help increase the capacity and quality of mentoring programs and youth-serving organizations across the state.
